Partnership with Strategic Investors
As a financial investor, A1 Group aims at cooperation with strategic industrial investors. The industrial, technological and operating competence of strategic investors complements that of the financial, economic and Russian country-specific competence of A1 Group. This enhances the competitive advantages and prospects of a project.
A1 Group and Alfa-Group have successful experience of cooperation with large international strategic investors; the most well-known are the partnerships with Telenor in VimpelCom, with British Petroleum in TNK-BP, and with MTG in Story First. As a rule, in alliances with strategic investors, A1 Group takes the role of the partner who assumes the initiative in the areas of its key competence: local risk management, corporate finance, deal-making and strategic management. A strategic investor usually plays a leading role in the operating, industrial and technological areas.
