Alfa-Carbon
Project start: 2005
Description of the Company:
Specializes in services for the registration and sale of quotas for emissions of greenhouse gases in line with the Kyoto Protocol. After ratification of the Protocol by Russia in 2004, there appeared to be incentives for the creation of a large new market. This is supported by a significant demand for Russian quotas by developed countries, and by the forthcoming boom of investments in ecological and energy-saving technologies. Alfa-Carbon supports enterprises with the identification of essentially new projects in the home economy: reconstruction, renovation and new construction with the purpose of reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, registration of this reduction with the Russian and international authorities as emission quotas, and sale of these quotas on the global carbon markets.
Investment Idea of the Project:
Enterprises can gain additional income from their capital investment if reduction of emissions becomes one of the results of the investment.
Role of the Investor:
Alfa-Carbon is one of the first companies in the industry; signing a number of contracts with large Russian enterprises, identifying projects, registering them and then selling the quotas.
