About the Company:
The third largest vertically integrated oil company (by output) in Russia. It is one of the ten biggest private oil companies in the world. The Company was formed by a merger of the Russian oil and gas assets of British Petroleum and Tyumen Oil Company. The Company's portfolio contains multiple producing, processing and sales assets in Russia and Ukraine. The Company's employs around 93,000 people.
Investment Idea of the Project:
Creation of one of the biggest companies in the oil and gas sector in Russia and CIS.
Role of the Investor:
Alfa-Group, jointly with Access Industries/Renova, acquired control of the Company having won the investment tender and fulfilling all of the investment conditions. The TNK crisis program and the renovation program were implemented, and its specialization and operational geography were significantly expanded (today TNK is present in all of the large regions of Russia where hydrocarbon raw materials are produced). Among those who headed this work are Alfa-Group team members currently working with us. TNK was split off into a separate strategic business within the structure of Alfa-Group.
